BUSAN – 부산

Located on the Southern-East coast, Busan is South Korea 2nd biggest city, with a population of 3.6 million. It is also South Korea biggest port city and the fifth largest port in the world.
It is a very interesting place to discover, full of surprises. I particularly love the atmosphere around the docks and the fish market. And if you need to relax, just head to one of Busan beach !

GYEONGJU – Daereungwon Royal Tombs (tumuli park)

just step in the park and feel the relaxing sensation that will conquer your tired body. Losing track of time and looking at these perfectly shaped and green tumuli is a delight. These 1500 years old royal tombs host remains of both kings and queens of the Shilla Kingdom.

GYEONGJU – Seokguram Grotto

you reach the grotto after a 15min walk along a nice and refreshing path through the forest, ideally covered by trees, a relief !

A beautiful 3.5m high buddha sits in the middle of the grotto. As the humidity and air is tightly controlled to protect the place, it is forbidden to enter inside the chamber (with one exception : on the birthday of Buddha, when authorities remove the glass wall).
Below are three shots of the colorful prayers hanging all around the grotto. more infos on wikipedia

GYEONGJU – Bulguksa temple

A gem, a masterpiece. wonderfully set in the hills, surrounded by pines. Beautiful ! Originally built in 750, it was destroyed, burned down during Japanese occupation in 1592-98 and later restored by Japanese during World-War II (although some treasures seem to have disappeared..) and finally restored by the Korean government to its current state. full details here
