The city of Tongren (Repkong) we’ve been visiting is host to some of the best Thangka artists. A Thangka is a painted or embroidered Buddhist banner which was hung in a monastery or a family altar and occasionally carried by monks in ceremonial processions.

The most important Tibetan Buddhist monastery outside of Tibet, belonging to the Yellow Hat Sect. Altitude is 3000m, nested in beautiful mountains. great place.
